Sd.Kfz.267 Pz.Bef.Wg.V Ausf.D 'Panther' - II./SS-Pz.Rgt. 5 'Wiking'

This story begins on the 26th of March 1944 when the II./SS-Panzer-Regiment 5 'Wiking' received orders to relieve the fester Platz of Kovel in the Western Ukraine. Until the early days of April 1944 the Panthers will see fierce action in and around Kovel and it's surrounding villages like Tupaly, Stare-Koszary, Czercasy, Krühel and Krasnoduby. Also heavy snowdrifts and mud made the weather conditions very harsh.
This model depicts the Pz.Bef.Wg.V Ausf.D 'Panther' II00 of SS-Sturmbannführer Otto Paetsch, Abteilungskommandeur of the II./SS-Pz.Rgt.5 'Wiking' on 3 April 1944 prior to the attack on Krühel.
This picture that shows the Panther II00 is taken from the excellent book 'Viking Panzers' by Ewald Klapdor.

The Kit I used is the Dragon Panther D w/Zimmerit (6428)
Some details f.e. the bucket still needs to be attached.
